The three girls
"Stupid woman. You better become famous in L.A okay? It's the city of dreams and you're starting a new adventure. Without us. Wretch girl. You better work hard uh," Joby chastised Liz as she hugged her grinning friend, both trying to hold back their tears from rolling down their faces. Cay was already, crying since they reached the departure gates. Liz's friends were at the back with her parents waiting for us to finish up our final goodbyes. Liz's mom was also trying to hold back her tears, but a strong woman she was, all she did was hug her daughter tightly and stroked her hair.
It was Painful to let her daughter leave for another country so far away alone. But everyone knew Liz, she was the most independent out of the three girls and strong like her mother as well. As Liz hugged cay, she mumbled in cay's wool sweater: I'm gonna miss you too cay. You take care where ever you go alright. And you girls call me anytime. After another few moments, Liz tugged her samsonite luggage into the immigration area, not looking back. Everyone watched her as she got cleared and was allowed to enter. She turned back a little and made a small wave to everyone on the other side of the glass walls and walked on, disappearing into the crowds after a few moments. Cay wiped her tear with a tissue and sniffed. Joby tucked her right arm into cay's and they both slowly walked away after bidding Liz's family and friends goodbye.
Later on that night, Joby was awakened by cay's call. "I got into the design company in London" she said, still sounding shock over the receiver. Joby squealed in excitement "You did it! You got in! Omg, I knew you could do it! Congrats caycay!" Cay was sobbing. Out of happiness of course. She had worked so hard for that place in the company over the last few months building up her design portfolio. However, that meant that she had to reach London in a weeks time. It was a requirement that international employees had to start work within two weeks as air tickets will be provided by the company. The company was London's prestigious Hallmarks designs where only the best designers are picked to work there. "My air ticket's date is this Friday jobs! How am I going to finish packing in just 4days?!" Cay suddenly panicked. "Don't worry, your mommy and I will help you with packing. I'll come over after school everyday to check on you!" Joby assured her. Cay sighed and thanked her friend and continued to read her the details.
Time flew quickly and it was already Friday. It was a similar scene as a few days before at the departure hall. Except this time, without Liz. Liz knew of the good news of course but was too jet lagged to react energetically. Joby was hugging cay for the final time before cay went in the immigration counters. Tears that were streaming down both faces eventually dried up as cay walked into the gates and into the crowds. The three friends were starting new adventures now, alone and anew. How will their lives change in time ? Time will tell.
